Objectives

Organising French research to address the challenges of aging

The GDR has three objectives:

  • Strengthen the French community of researchers in human and social sciences working on issues related to aging, including demographers, economists, epidemiologists, geographers, jurists, psychologists, sociologists, urban planners and others, encouraging multidisciplinary cooperation between existing teams;
  • Maximise French teams’ participation in European programmes (such as Horizon 2020 and the Joint Programming Initiative “More Years, Better Lives”) and national programmes by providing information and action targeted at the scientific community;
  • Develop the use and analysis of existing European databases such as SHARE (Survey on Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe), GGP (Generations and Gender Programme) and EHLEIS (European Health and Life Expectancy Information System).

Our underlying principle is contributions in kind from partners.

It is not the role of the GDR as such to apply for funding for research projects of its own.
